Every two years, Seattle Hadassah takes the opportunity to host a Gala Fundraiser. “Gala”, from Old French meaning “rejoicing”, is more apt than ever this year as we are starting to see the proverbial light at the end of a year-long tunnel.  Our forced isolation heightened our need to connect and belong, The Gala is a super-connector, albeit virtual.  With the theme of “Honoring Our Nurses Near and Far”, our Gala co-chairs, Beryl Cohen and Caryn Gold, are offering us a way to safely celebrate and show our gratitude to nurses, working or retired, click:  Nurses Tribute Board

“Honoring Our Nurses Near and Far” seems to be touching the hearts of so many Hadassah members who want to be counted on to donate toward the $180,000 goal to fund a new Nurses Station at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem.  The March 17th program, “Getting To Know Four Seattle Nurses” was like a warm-up to the Gala.  See some comments and zoom screenshots below:

A Hadassah Hurrah to our panel of nurses:  Cheryl Berenson, Deb Kadish, Shoshana Mirel, and Debbie Dick Shuster, and to moderator,
Lauren Goldman.  Into the next generation, Dana Halabe, the daughter of Life member Judy Edelstein, will be starting Nursing School in the fall at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
